What time can I arrive at the fishery?

The main gate opens at 7am throughout the year, but there is space to wait outside the gate if you want to get there earlier. Please do not leave your car unattended in case of an emergency.

Where is the fishery located?

Our address is Hartley Lands Fishery, Swattenden Lane, Cranbrook, Kent, TN17 3PS. We are roughly 8mins from Hawkhurst,  30mins from Tunbridge Wells, 30mins from Maidstone, 35mins from Hastings and 40mins from Ashford.

Are there toilets and a shower on-site?

We have a dedicated block open 24 hours a day with one shower, two male toilets and a disabled/female toilet.

Do you have drinking water on site?

Yes there is an outside tap that is located by the toilet shower block.

Hartley Dyke Farm Shop is 240 metres away, they sell a huge range of local products, including artisan bread, fruit & veg, meats, game, cheese, patés, dairy, soups, Taywell ice cream, Cook meals, soups, local wine and beers, handmade sandwiches, pasties, pastries, fresh cut flowers and plants, newspapers and more.
 
Hartley Coffee House & Farm Shop is 240 metres away, they open at 8am for a full freshly cooked breakfast and offer a range of pastries, including croissants, pain au chocolat and sausage rolls – all freshly baked in our farm shop bakery next to the Coffee House. All our cakes are made locally and the salads are prepared freshly every day. Home produced ham, sausage rolls and locally sourced quiches are very popular for a light lunch, or enjoy a delicious panini, toastie, sandwich or baguette made with freshly baked bread from our bakery.
 
Co-op supermarket is 1.6miles away, High St, Goudhurst, Cranbrook TN17 3DQ.

I'm afraid we do not allow dogs onsite even if they are on a lead.

Are litter bins provided?

Accepted Answer

Yes there are 5 well positioned bins around the complex, please make sure you use them or take your litter home. Anyone found to be littering will be banned.

We accept credit, debit card and cash on the bank.

Can the lake be booked exclusively?

Accepted Answer

Yes the lakes can be booked exclusively for private hire, but the lake fisherman limit and fishery rules apply. Contact us for prices.

Can I reserve swims?

Accepted Answer

Once you have booked onto a lake its first come first serve on swim selection, you can not book individual swims.

Question 13

Can a friend visit me whilst I'm fishing?

Accepted Answer

Spectators will be charged 50% of the  person they are spectating, no more than 1 spectator per angler.  Spectators must be aged 7 or over.

Can I bring a non fishing partner or child for overnight sessions?

Accepted Answer

Spectators are ONLY allowed on the Specimen Lakes (Nick's, Pear Tree, Henniker and Bramley) for a minimum 24h session and must be aged 7 or over. Spectators will be charged 50% of the person they are spectating, no more than 1 spectator per angler

Can anglers under 16 fish in their own swim?

No they must fish in the same swim as their guardian. They must have the correct equipment for the lake they are fishing.

Do you have double swims on the carp lakes?

Accepted Answer

We do not have double swims as such but the carp lake swims are 4.8 meters wide by 3.3 meters.

Question 17

Can I surface fish for carp?

Accepted Answer

Yes surface fishing is permitted but please be mindful of where your loose feed is floating off to. Only one rod can be used at a time when surface fishing.

Can I use a bait boat?

Accepted Answer

Bait boats are banned on the whole complex.

Can I use a carp cradle?

Accepted Answer

Yes as long as they meet the minimum required size for the lake you are fishing.
